The Analytical Framework

Policy packages
These can include e.g. regulatory or pricing measures, infrastructure investments and land use schemes and their combinations.
User interface
The framework will be based upon a predominantly graphical interface. Policy inputs will be collated and presented to the user in electronic form.
Data inputs
These will contain all the necessary input information for running the model and conducting the raster and other analyses.
Raster method
This methodology developed at the University of Dortmund is used to increase the spatial disaggregation of the MEPLAN zonal system to analyse certain effects, such as exposure to noise and pollutants in a small scale spatial grid.
MEPLAN
MEPLAN is a software package based on an advanced land-use transport interaction model developed at the University of Cambridge and at Marcial Echenique & Partners Ltd.

SUSTI
This module will calculate the values for many land-use related environmental indicators as well as most of the social indicators.

Other methods
These will cover all other methods through which it is possible to assign values for the supplementary indicators.
Indicators database
Database for indicators and explanatory variables from different sources.
MEPLUS GIS
This module will produce run reports and illustrate the results in a user-defined way (maps, graphs, diagrams and tables).
USE-IT
USE-IT is an independent computerised decision support tool designed by LT and linked to MEPLUS GIS and OTHER METHODS-modules. After the indicator values have been assigned, they will be aggregated in order to simplify the interpretation.
